Frequently Asked Questions

1. How can I increase the rate at which market data updates and reduce order processing time?

To improve the speed and quality of services, it is recommended to upgrade the connection channel to at least 256 kbps and set up a local Gateway.

2. When do I need the Bridge?

The MICEX Bridge is needed to connect external systems to the MICEX Trading System. Examples of such external systems are: analytical and brokerage systems, risk-management systems, order collection and market data dissemination systems, backoffices, etc.

3. What is the difference between the Bridge and the Gateway?

The Gateway is used at all times. When you connect to the Gateway at the MICEX Technical Center, its presence is not obvious. The local Gateway installation provides users with additional benefits: decreasing the traffic to/from the Trading System, updating market data faster, connecting a larger number of clients, etc. The Bridge is optional and it is only needed to connect external/brokerage systems to the Trading System.

4. What do “COM-COM interface” and “PIX/ASA interface” mean?

The MICEX Bridge is available in two versions: one for use with the serial RS-232 (i.e. COM) port and another for use with the Security Appliance via TCP/IP protocol. Performance tests show a 30–40% advantage of using TCP/IP over the traditional COM.
