Alexei Ernestovitch Rybnikov was born in Moscow in 1965.

In 1987 graduated from Moscow State Institute of Foreign Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR.

1987-1989 — served as officer in the Army of the USSR.

1989-1991 — studied as post graduate in the Institute of USA and Canada of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR.

1991-1997 — "Eurofinance" Commercial Bank (Moscow), Chief of Stock Department, Chief of Stock Market Transactions Department, Chief of Investment Operations Department.

1997-2002 — "J.P.Morgan Bank International" Commercial Bank (previous name "Chase Manhattan Bank International"). Last position — Vice-President, Head of Investment and Banking Operations for Russia.

Since December 16, 2002 — Director of "National Depository Center" Non-Commercial Partnership.

Since April 25, 2003 — First Deputy of MICEX General Director.
