Alexander I. Potemkin
President

Alexander Ivanovitch Potemkin was born in 1956. Graduated from the Faculty of Economics of Moscow State University named after M.V.Lomonosov.

From 1982 till 1991 was employed by Vnesheconombank of the USSR and the State Bank of the USSR. Being successively the Chief of Currency Auctions Department of Vnesheconombank of the USSR and Director of "Currency Exchange of the State Bank of the USSR" (Later reorganized into MICEX) actively participated in establishing Russian money market.

From December 1991 till November 1998 A.I. Potemkin was employed by the Central Bank of the Russian Federation. From1996 till 1998 held position of Bank Deputy Chairman and was the Member of the Board of Directors of the Bank of Russia.

From 1993 till 1999 A.I. Potemkin held position of Chairman of the Board of MICEX.

From 1999 till 2000 was the Councillor of the Board of Vneshtorgbank.

Since 2000 was the First Deputy Chairman of the Board of MFK Bank.

After consolidation of ROSBANK and MFK Bank in July 2002 was assigned to the post of Deputy Chairman of the Board of ROSBANK. His responsibilities at that time included supervision of corporate financing, relations with financial institutions and organization of asset management.

On April 24, 2003 appointed to the post of General Director of ZAO "Moscow Interbank Currency Exchange" (MICEX) by decision of the Annual Meeting of MICEX Shareholders.

Married, has three children.
