On June 5, 2009 the MICEX Group and ROSNANO signed a cooperation agreement on founding a new exchange sector on the basis of the IGC Sector – the Innovations and Investment Market, which would allow high-tech companies to attract financing using exchange procedures, including closed placements among funds and qualified investors.

The goal of the new Sector: creating a transparent procedure of attracting investment to the high-tech sector of the Russian economy, promoting the creation and development of nano-technologies, and implementing anti-crisis measures.

Target group of investors: high-tech companies of small and middle capitalization planning to attract equity.

Three basic segments will operate within the Innovation and Investment Market, intended for companies with various levels of maturity and capitalization and various groups of investors:

• The IGC Sector, allowing rapidly growing companies of the investment sector to conduct IPO and derivative trading in all main MICEX areas.
• The private investment platform – the major focus will be on private investments using exchange technologies and listing. Derivative circulation will be carried out among qualified investors using trade technologies intended for trading in large lots.
• A sector for offering and trading non-public companies (information board), aiming to attract financing for young and growing companies that are yet not ready for offering and circulation in the full-fledged public market.

Basic Functions of the MICEX Stock Exchange:

• Creating a service environment for issuers and funds;
• Control over compliance with regulations on disclosure, helping to support liquidity;
• IR-arrangements and expanding the investor group;
• PR and informational support.
