On July, 25 2008 the MICEX Stock Exchange started trading on shares of OJSC “О2ТВ”. The company plans to bring up to 25% of shares in total to the exchange. The financial consultant of the company was IC “Metropol”.

The first goal of shares placing in the exchange is the coming estimation of the company (capitalization) to real and creation of pre-requisites for future IPO in spring 2009. Besides, the attracted assets will be used for extensive development – expansion of the broadcast network, increase of content production, launch of special projects, that will effect on TNS Gallup Media survey results and financial results of the company. Furthermore a share of attracted money will be used for refinancing of the existing borrowings.

О2ТВ TV Channel started broadcasting in July 2004. Today О2ТВ covers more than 315 cities in Russia. Thanks to the continuously expanding geography of broadcasting, the channel is available to more than 33 million people, including almost 4 million in Moscow and Moscow region. The channel produces more than 155 hours of its own programs per month. According to the Gallup Media company’s data, О2ТВ is daily watched by approximately 1.5 million people. The audience is represented by youth with active life position, who are insignificantly involved into traditional, “classic” TV.

Starting from autumn 2007, О2ТВ caries out pilot survey of its audience within the TV Index survey of the TNS Gallup Media company. Survey is made in five cities in Russia within the framework of people-measuring. Upon results of such survey the О2ТВ TV channel has confirmed the presence of its unique audience aging from 16 to 34, which constitutes more than 69% from all TV-viewers. Also О2ТВ has shown TV-viewing by covered cities of approximately 0,1–0,6%, that allows to claim the inclusion of О2ТВ into federal surveying of the TNS company already by September-October 2008.

TV channel programs embrace the whole spectrum of modern human interests: from news and politics to entertainment programs and talk-shows.
The following principles apply to creation of all programs on the TV channel:

  • always communicate with Tv-viewers in their native language, without imposing the channel’s opinion, but providing them with the possibility to make their choice independently;
  • programs’ hosts are young people as the audience is;
  • almost in all programs the hosts’ intonations and opinions belong to them, they do not work by prepared scenarios or teletext.

The majority of programs presupposes feedback from viewers: live phone calls, letters, forum and even putting of viewers on air through web-cameras.

Production is a strong side of the TV channel. Initially the model of business, which excluded the use (in contrary to the conventional activity of TV companies) of secondary TV content and that purchased from third companies, was adopted, therefore nowadays О2ТВ is a large production company.
