Education:
1977 – graduated from Leningrad Polytechnic Institute with a degree in engineering and physics.
2005 – graduated from the All-Russia Extramural Financial and Economic Institute (Moscow) with a degree in economics specializing in financial management.

1977 – 1992 – Salyut Design Bureau, Moscow (from 1985 – sector head)

1992 – 2000 – Moscow Commodity Exchange (MTB), Moscow. Vice-President – Head of the Trading Organization Department. S.A. Naumov helped organize trading in USD futures (1992), government-backed securities, sugar and grain (1994), corporate securities (1997), and stock indices (1998). He has a training certificate from the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) as part of the Energy Carriers and Futures Market program (1993).

2000 – March 2002 – the European-Asian Exchange, Moscow, Deputy General Director – Head of the Trading Organization Department. S.A. Naumov took part in organizing auctions for quotas on the import of raw sugar, quotas for harvesting marine bioresources (2000– 2002), and exchange-based trading for procuring grain for the RF intervention fund (November 2001).

Since July 2002 – Director of the National Mercantile Exchange.

S.A. Naumov is married and has two daughters.
