Biotechnology company Human Stem Cells Institute opens the book of orders in the framework of its IPO in the MICEX Market for Innovations and Investments

On November 12, 2009, Russia’s biotechnology company Human Stem Cells Institute (HSCI) gave its presentation on the MICEX. HSCI intends to make its IPO in the MICEX Market for Innovations and Investments in December 2009.

During the presentation, representatives of the organizer of the offering, ALOR INVEST Company, officially announced the opening of the book of orders to buy shares in HSCI. Co-organizers of the offering are Russian Funds Investment Group and Finam Company.
The forthcoming offering will be the first IPO made by a biotechnology company in the history of Russia’s stock market. HSCI plans to place 15 million shares, representing 20% of the Company authorized capital, at the price of 9 to 11 rubles per share.
The presentation was attended by over 100 people, including representatives of private and state funds, investment banks, management companies and other institutional investors.

According to Gennadii Margolit, Vice-President of the MICEX, “the Exchange is ready to actively assist fast-growing innovation companies in entering the public market and obtaining financing. The emergence of the first issuer from the biotechnology sector is a significant event in the context of the development of an innovation economy in Russia, and it is exactly for this purpose that the MICEX Market for Innovations and Investments was created.”

Human Stem Cells Institute (HSCI) was established in 2003 to advance projects in stem cell technologies. Today HSCI is an international biotechnology company with laboratories and offices in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Ukraine and Germany. HSCI has modern processing laboratories and storages of cellular material. It has two research laboratories: the Laboratory of Stem Cell Technologies in Moscow and the biotechnological laboratory of SymbioTec Company in Saarbrücken (Germany). The Institute is the main publisher of the journal “Cellular Transplantation and Tissue Engineering”.
