25 March
Five years since the beginning of trading in corporate securities on the MICEX.
27 March
The MICEX created the possibility of concluding and executing REPO transactions in corporate securities. All members of the MICEX Stock Market Section gained admission to REPO mode. The implementation of REPO trading mode on the MICEX gave participants in the stock market additional possibilities of crediting in the form of securities and cash resources. The MICEX also launched another new trading mode, "Incomplete Lots".
18 April
For the first time in the history of the Russian stock market, the IPO of the stock of a Russian company was held in the organized market. Auction to place the securities of RBK Information Systems was held in the MICEX Stock Market Section. "
20 May
Trading in the bonds of the RF foreign bond loans of (Eurobonds) was launched on the MICEX. All dollar-denominated issues of Federal Eurobonds were admitted to trading. Admitted to trading in Eurobonds were members of the MICEX Stock Market Section — authorized banks in compliance with the RF legislation on currency regulation and currency control.
27 May
The time of trading in the MICEX Stock Market Section was extended. Trading with today settlements (Т+0) are to begin at 10:15 and end at 19:05. Trading in the negotiated deals mode without coverage is to continue till 22:00.
12 August
The MICEX reduced its commission for transactions in bonds in the Stock Market Section from 0,035% to 0,02% from each party to the transaction.
4 September
The MICEX and Reuters presented a new stock market indicator, joint stock index RMX.
1 October
The MICEX introduced a new scheme of settlements in foreign currency for transactions in the RF Eurobonds. Payments for transactions in Eurobonds are to be made on the accounts of market participants with the MICEX Settlement House. The MICEX extended the time of trading in евроbonds. The session is to last from 10:00 till 15:00.
8 October
The MICEX published its first rating of operators of the exchange market of REPO transactions in stocks and corporate bonds.
22 October
The MICEX and the National Association of the Stock Market Participants signed an agreement of cooperation in the area of developing regional stock markets and creating favorable investment climate in Russia's regions. The MICEX registered record-high trading turnover in the Stock Market Section — 10,2 billion rubles.
